Quick Navigation

🔒 Privacy & Security

Is any image uploaded to your server?

No. This is the most important feature of EasyImageCR. We operate as a Client-Side Tool. When you select an image, it is processed entirely within your web browser (using HTML5 Canvas and WebAssembly technology) on your own device. Your photos never travel over the internet to our servers. This ensures 100% privacy for your personal documents, contracts, and family photos.

Do you store copies of my photos?

No. Since the files never reach our server, we cannot store them. Once you close the tab or refresh the page, all memory of the image is wiped from your browser.

Why does it say "Uncommon Download" or warn me?

Occasionally, Windows SmartScreen or antivirus software might flag the download. This happens because the file is generated instantly by your browser (JavaScript) rather than being downloaded from a traditional server. Since the file originates from "your computer" but technically comes from the browser, security systems treat it as new/uncommon. It is completely safe to keep/open the file.

⚡ Features & Bulk Tools

How do I use Bulk Resize?

Click on the "Bulk Resize" tab on the homepage. You can select multiple images (Ctrl+Click or Cmd+Click). Once uploaded, you can set the width, format, and compression settings for all of them. When you click "Batch Process & Download," the tool will process and download each image one by one.

Tip: We recommend processing up to 50 images at a time to prevent your browser from running out of memory.
Is the service free?

Yes, EasyImageCR is 100% free to use for both personal and commercial purposes. We display non-intrusive advertisements to cover our hosting and development costs.

Does it work on Mobile?

Absolutely. The website is fully responsive. You can resize, crop, and compress images directly from your iPhone, iPad, or Android gallery without installing any apps.

📉 Compression & File Size

How do I compress an image to exactly 50KB or 20KB?

This is essential for government forms (like UPSC, SSC, PAN Card).
1. Upload your image.
2. Under "Compression Mode," select Target Size (KB).
3. Enter your desired limit (e.g., 50).
4. Ensure format is set to JPEG or WEBP (PNG does not support aggressive compression).
The tool will mathematically calculate the highest quality possible that fits within your 50KB limit.

What is the difference between Resizing and Compressing?

Resizing changes the dimensions (pixels) of the image (e.g., changing 1920x1080 to 800x600). This naturally reduces file size.
Compressing keeps the dimensions the same but removes invisible data and simplifies colors to reduce the file weight (KB/MB).
For best results, do both: Resize to a reasonable width (like 1200px) and then compress quality to 80-90%.

🎨 Editing & Cropping

How do I make a circular profile picture?

1. Open the "Show Edit Tools" panel.
2. Set the "Rounded Corners" slider to 50%.
3. IMPORTANT: Set the Output Format to PNG or WebP. If you save as JPEG, the transparent corners will turn black or white.

How do I crop for Instagram or YouTube?

We have built-in presets in the Edit Tools panel.
- 1:1 for Instagram Posts.
- 9:16 for Instagram Reels/Stories or TikTok.
- 16:9 for YouTube Thumbnails.
Simply click the preset button, and the preview will update instantly.

Can I add a border to my image?

Yes. In the Edit Tools panel, increase the "Border Width" slider. You can also click the color box to choose any color (black, white, neon, etc.) for your border. This is great for making images pop on white backgrounds.

🖼️ File Formats

Which format should I choose?

- JPEG: Best for photographs. Small file size, wide compatibility. No transparency.
- PNG: Best for graphics, logos, and screenshots. Supports transparency. Larger file size.
- WebP: The modern standard. Smaller than JPEG and PNG with better quality. Supported by all modern browsers.
- BMP/TIFF: Older formats, usually for printing. Very large file sizes.

Why did my transparent background turn black?

You likely saved the image as a JPEG. The JPEG format does not support transparency, so it fills transparent areas with a solid color (usually black or white). To keep the background transparent, please select PNG or WebP.

Do you support HEIC (iPhone) files?

Most modern browsers can now read HEIC files. If you upload a HEIC file, we can convert it to JPG or PNG. However, support depends on your specific browser version and operating system.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

The download button isn't working.

Please try the following:
1. Ensure you have actually uploaded a file.
2. If you are using an ad-blocker, it might occasionally interfere with the script. Try pausing it.
3. Refresh the page and try again.
4. Check if your browser has permission to save files to your device.

My browser crashed while processing.

Since we process images in your browser's memory (RAM), uploading extremely large files (e.g., 100MB TIFFs) or selecting 500 images at once in Bulk Mode can overwhelm the browser. Try processing fewer images at a time or closing other tabs to free up memory.

The output size is larger than the original! Why?

This can happen if:
1. You are converting a highly compressed JPEG to a PNG (PNGs are lossless and larger).
2. You increased the resolution (Upscaling).
3. The "Quality" slider is set to 100%. Try lowering it to 90% or 80%.

📌 Best Practices & Use Cases

Settings for Government Forms (India)?

Most Indian portals (UIDAI, NTA, UPSC) require:
- Passport Photo: 3.5cm x 4.5cm (approx 132x170 pixels to 413x531 pixels). Size < 50KB or < 100KB.
- Signature: Width > Height. Size < 20KB.
Use our "Target Size" mode set to 45KB or 18KB to be safe.

Settings for E-commerce (Amazon/Flipkart)?

Marketplaces prefer square images with white backgrounds.
- Dimensions: At least 1000x1000 pixels (for zoom functionality).
- Format: JPEG.
- Quality: 85-90%.

How to optimize for Website Speed (SEO)?

Large images slow down websites. For blog posts:
- Convert images to WebP.
- Resize width to max 1200px or 800px.
- Keep file size under 100KB per image.
